Kyle Segura, 24, lives in Florida with his mom, Shirley, and dad, Robert, receiving strong support from his sister, Rachel. Diagnosed with autism at age 2, Kyle is nonverbal and has faced communication challenges, but he connects powerfully with others through his art. His warm smiles, expressive creativity, and joyful presence speak volumes about who he is.
Art has been a lifelong passion for Kyle, beginning in early childhood and continuing to grow in depth and sophistication over time. He currently attends Spark2Ignite, a learning center that provides vocational training and independent living skill development for young adults on the autism spectrum. Through Spark2Ignite, Kyle has expanded his artistic practice across multiple mediums, including acrylic painting, murals, handmade greeting cards, custom clothing, jewelry, and digital and animation-based art.
Kyle’s work is proudly displayed throughout the Spark2Ignite art gallery space, brightening doors, windows, and community areas. His artwork has also been showcased in various art exhibitions, including the National Parks Art Exhibit at the Lake Park Library and at David Teal’s art gallery, where his pieces were featured alongside other working artists. These exhibitions reflect both the quality of Kyle’s autistic art and his growing presence within the local art community.
In addition to exhibiting his art, Kyle is an active volunteer at the Lake Park Library, where he assists with shelving, organizing collections, and supporting daily operations while working toward becoming a shelving specialist. He also enjoys creating and selling handmade greeting cards, sharing his art in a personal and meaningful way. In 2025, Kyle was awarded the Hunter’s Fund Entrepreneurship Grant in recognition of his talent and entrepreneurial vision, supporting the launch and growth of his art business.
Kyle is also an enthusiastic athlete. He competes in the Special Olympics and participates in adaptive baseball and soccer programs, coached by his father. He enjoys long bike rides with his parents, swimming, flying kites, and spending time outdoors.
Kyle’s joy for life, dedication to his craft, and growing independence continue to inspire his family, peers, and community. Through art, service, and perseverance, his story reflects both personal growth and the impact of inclusive opportunities.
